What are the sights and sounds of summer? For me, the sound of a ball hitting a baseball glove is one of my favorites. (Of course, the sound of a ball making solid contact with the bat ranks pretty high too!) Playing softball as a girl taught me to love the feel of new batting gloves, the chatter of the team from the dugout and the joy of learning the game. As life comes full circle and our children begin to play sports we begin to realize the sacrifice our parents made to coach and support us. In fact, the picture below shows 3 generations of baseball lovers: Dr Tanner, his dad (Can you say 40 years of coaching experience?!) and Dr Tanner's son. As you can tell from the "We are Number 1" signs (and smiles) it's always fun to come out on top! But the joy of learning to play as a team, doing your best and improving are even better!
